Week 13 We Are One With The Universal

I’m sure you read the title and thought crap.  Chris has gone all religious on us.  Well perhaps I have.  Here is my thought though, whether you believe in God, Jesus, Mohammed, Buddha, or whatever religion you are, it doesn’t matter to me.  What I do think most people believe is that there is a higher power.  An energy that keeps things in balance and alignment and is all around us.  Call it the Universal mind or creator, but I do believe there is something much bigger than us out there.   I don’t think that we were put on this earth with the old “worm” theory of we need to be satisfied with our portion whatever it is.

If that “worm” theory were true then we were meant to be put on this earth, work 40-45 years.  Retire when our bodies may not have anything left to enjoy those remaining 10, 20, or 30 years.  I thinks that’s crap.

Especially during this holiday season when you can witness all the love out there.  What this time of year truly does to people, you have to see that there is a higher power.  a line in my reading for this week is that “The Father and I are one.”  This is where we may get a little religious.  If that line is true then we were fashioned in the creators image, the Universal mind’s image, a higher energy’s image.  We are one.  We may not be to the degree of that higher energy, but we have the same ability.  We can manifest a new job, a higher salary, the ability to travel as we want, retirement from our job by the time we’re 40.  All of this is available to us if we truly focus on it just like the law of growth or The Secret says.  What we think about we become.

The thing is that we all have the knowledge, we just don’t apply it.  Knowledge not applied is useless and it doesn’t allow us to fulfill our destiny and get away from that worm mentality.  I am so glad I keep working more towards what I was meant to do and have and am looking forwards to an amazing 2016.

Week 12 My Favorite Time of Year

Christmas

For those that know me know that I am an absolute Christmas fiend.  I truly am.  The thing is that for some reason, it has been a lot of years since I’ve truly been able to sit down and soak in the holidays.  Really soak in the laughs, the memories, and more importantly the love.  It’s mainly due to busyness of my own doing, and that is why this weekend before Christmas that I would normally be hunting pheasants, I am sitting on my couch right now watching a Christmas movie.  Last night I did the same thing.  I watched the movie ELF with my fiancee lying next to me and it was great.

So often with our lives we let so much get in our way of what we truly want that we sacrifice many things in our lives that make us whole.  We let things go by the wayside.  We let petty little differences get in between us and the relationships with our families and friends that we love so very much.  I am seeing and have seen it happen.  For some reason we let stupid little things that in the big picture  mean absolutely nothing, get in our way.  We let some petty little opinion dominate our thoughts and by dominating our thoughts guess what it does?   It grows like the law of growth or attraction says.  What we focus on, grows.  So now you take this tiny insignificant disagreement or opinion grow and grow and grow and before you know it, you’ve manifested something that will do nothing but hurt you and those you love.  I’ve done it.  I’m getting better at it with the readings I’ve done, the calls I’ve done, the webinars I’ve watched.  I’m still not where I am, but I’m continuing to strive to be better

In this class we’ve been told not to have an opinion on things.  Guess what?  The less I have an opinion the less troubles it is for me and those I care about.  WOW!  Maybe Mark is right.  Instead of focusing our thoughts on our opinion, that many times is made without all knowledge of the subject, we need to just become an observer.  We need to listen.  More importantly we need to hear what is said.  See what is happening.  Finally if we can’t understand what to do, we need to bring in some love.  Love for our family.  Love for our friends.  More importantly love for ourselves.  Remind yourself “I am whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonius, and happy”… cause we all are. The more we bring love into any situation, the easier it will make it.  In a world where media, politicians, and companies are trying to segregate us by religion, race, age, class, etc. we just need to face situations with a little more love and empathy.  The Christmas season really reminds us of that.  So with that being said I’m going to close out my post for today, press play on one of the many Christmas movies I have in my collection, and love every minute of it with a cup of coffee in my hand.

Till next time,

Week 11: Fake It Till Ya Make It… Not Quite

So I’m a little late on my blog post this week but a little get away with friends delayed it some.  I know you looked at the title and have heard that line before.  “Fake it till ya make it.”  All this means is act like you’re successful and reached your goals.  The thing is that I’m not sure I buy into faking it till you make it.

This past week we were to sit in the evening and focus on this one line.  “Whatsoever things ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them and ye shall have them.”  What does this mean.  In my mind it means all you have to do is ask once and the universe will grant it.  Then believe, and act like you’ve already attained your goals.  Well I know what you’re saying.  But Chris this is the same thing.  I’m not sure it is.  The big thing I don’t like is the fake it part.

Previously I learned that in a study we see our future selves as a stranger.  Someone we don’t even know.  This is one of the big things that can hold us from achieving our goals is the fact that we just don’t see present self as our future self and this disconnect is a big hurdle for people.  Once you start to see that future self as your self.  Once you start to really believe that you are already your future self.  Once you sit down and truly absorb the fact that all you ask for will come to you, that is when you’ll be a success and achieve all you want.

So in this case don’t fake it till you make it.  Act like you already have it because you do.

Like I mentioned above this past weekend I was on a getaway with friends.  Well that get away happened to be pheasant hunting with some longtime friends from chiropractic school. This weekend every year makes me realize how much my want and need for Liberty is.  The restraint of having to be back at work tomorrow, well feels restraining.  It really gets at one of the biggest things in life I want.  Liberty.  I just sit here and think what would it be like if I didn’t have to be at work tomorrow?  What would it be like if tomorrow I woke up, had some coffee, worked out, had lunch, took care of a few business things, and that was it?  Awesome is what it would be.

So I really need to get to know and become intimate with my future self.  Know that I am him, and he is me.  Know that I already have what I’ve asked for.  Know that all I want is coming to me.

Week 10 Persistence. Persistence. Persistence…. Persistence… Get the point?

JustKeepSwimmingCan you guess what I’m going to talk about today?  Dumb question I know but it’s something we need to address.  Persistence.  Something that at times is lacking with the instant gratification society we live in.  We expect that if we start a job, in 4 months we should be running the company.  We want to drop 40 pounds in 4 weeks.  We want to be able to know it all right now.  Patient isn’t there, but really it’s persistence that just isn’t around.

The biggest thing is that people who succeed aren’t overnight successes.  The problem is that what most people see is the end result.  They don’t see the little things.  The same task done over and over for a year, 5 years, 10 years, even 20 years.  People don’t see the tears, the laughter, the frustration, the number of times successful people have looked into the mirror and said “Is it worth it?”  The thing is that when successful people looked in that mirror, they always answered “Yes.”  Why?  Because they know that they have to continue to look at that face in the mirror for the rest of their life and don’t want to have the person look back from the mirror reminding them they gave up.

What does this come down to?  Persistence.  Perhaps the most needed quality in any successful person.  To be honest some might just look at it as stupidity.  Being a glutton for punishment.  Having yourself questioned by your family, your friends, and at times yourself.

Persistence.  That quality that keeps you waking up every morning.  The quality that even on the worst of days knows that you’ll live to fight another day.  That quality that as long as you have it, as long as you never give up, as long as you have the end result in mind and have that picture of the end so clear in your head that there is no way on god’s green earth you’re going to give up.  It’s there.  Monarch butterflies have persistence.  They’re born, sometimes all the way in Canada and then have to migrate to a place less that 80 miles wide in Mexico.  How do they know what to do, where to go, when to do it?  Persistence.  Read about Monarch butterflies.  Pretty interesting story.

Do you think that god blessed a butterfly with persistence but not you?  The problem is were mostly water and water always does the path of least resistance.  On those days that are just so tough, think of the butterfly.  Think of Dori and “Just Keep Swimming.”
